Just a Thought,

Could these FTDI based Arm programmers https://www.olimex.com/Products/ARM/JTAG/ARM-USB-OCD-H/ be used to program PIC’s

I think the circuit is something or your like this http://www.ethernut.de/pdf/turtelizer20c-schematic.pdf but am confirming details

Do you think that this software http://picpgm.picprojects.net/ might be able to use the same hardware to program PIC’s

Looks like this circuit is very similar http://picpgm.picprojects.net/hardware. ... PROGRAMMER

Hi,

yes, the schematic looks good.
The only problem I see is that the enable pins of IC4, IC5 and IC6 which are also connected to the FT2322D. Means there are small modifications required in PICPgm to allow control of the enable pins.
Are you interested in trying it out? If yes, I can try to provide a tweaked version of PICPgm in the next days ...

Regards,
Christian

Hi

I'm trying to talk to Olimex to get a cct of their programmer so I know the exact hardware.

Also if we were to use the H version of the FTDI chip this would be High speed 480Mb so might allow you to run the programmer much faster? Would this help in getting a high speed read? I believe Olimex use this chip http://www.ftdichip.com/Products/ICs/FT2232H.html

Will let you know how I get on

Regards

Martin

OLimex have not been too helpful with any information about re-using the ARM programmer but have pointed me to this USB hardware

https://www.olimex.com/Products/PIC/Pro ... /PIC-KIT3/

Is this something that you would be interested in supporting?
