Hi all,

I'm constructing this PIC16F84A programmer:

http://electronica.yoreparo.com/foros/f ... _monty.jpg

from a Robot and I' would like to use it with PICPgm. This programmer is very similar to Tait's. The differences are:

* Pins 2 and 3 from paraller port are interchanged, so in this programmer, pin 2 is connected to CLOCK and pin 3 to DATA OUT
* Pin 5 controls the MCLR signal
* Pin 4 is not used to control Vdd as in Tait programmer. In this programmer is used to set the PIC in "normal" function mode (I've read this information from the robot issues, but i've never used a microcontroller)

I've not finish to solder the circuit but I think I'll we finish to solder it in a few days.

PicPgm has an "Enable Test" button but I don't know if this test can damage the board if I configure the pins in a wrong way. I've attached a picture with a possible configuration.

Is this configuration correct ?
Should I use the test button?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.
