Hi all, I'm new in this forum. I'm from italy and I want to begin to programming pic (maybe 18f14k50).
I read the picprog lvisp guide and before buying the components, I checked the parallel port voltage, without anything, only two wire from pin 5 and pin 25, then with picpgm I test the hardware MCLR. I thought that it should be 5v, but I found 3.34v.
Is it possible? Is something goes wrong?
I apologize for my English.

Hi,

if you have built PICPgm LVISP (Low-Voltgage, In-System Programmer), you need external 5V power supply for powering the 7405 inverter. Have you measured the voltage between pin 7 and 14 of the 7405? Here you should have 5V.

Regards,
Christian
