Hi,
I'm getting this error:

picpgm: /lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.17' not found (required by picpgm)

when running picpgm on a raspberry pi 2B (command line mode, no X, raspbian wheezy) after a fresh install:

pi@sjmpi1 ~/picpgm_install $ tar xzvf picpgm-2.9.1.0-linux-armhf.tar.gz
picpgm
pgmifcfg.xml
disclaimer.txt
install.sh
pi@sjmpi1 ~/picpgm_install $ sudo ./install.sh

PICPgm install script v2.0.0
============================
create directory /opt/picpgm ...
copying files to /opt/picpgm ...
creation symbolic link at /usr/bin ...
Installation of PICPgm finished!
pi@sjmpi1 ~/picpgm_install $ cd ..
pi@sjmpi1 ~ $ picpgm -h
picpgm: /lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.17' not found (required by picpgm)

I tried apt-get installing libc6 but libc6 was already up to date at 2.13

So next I tried installing picpgm_v2880_raspi.tar.gz, same problem.

Be very grateful for any help.
Cheers,
Steve.

Hi!
Which GLIBC is installed on your system?

I have compiled 2.9.2.0 against GLIBC 2.14.1:

Christian

Hi, thanks for your response.

>pi@sjmpi1 ~ $ sudo dpkg -l | grep libc6
>ii libc6:armhf 2.13-38+rpi2+deb7u11 armhf Embedded GNU C Library: Shared libraries
>ii libc6-dev:armhf 2.13-38+rpi2+deb7u11 armhf Embedded GNU C Library: Development Libraries and Header Files

Looks like 2.13 :(

Thanks again.

Steve.

Can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have a version compiled against GLIBC v2.13 for the raspberry Pi.
Thank you so much.

Hi,

I tried to build a rasperry pi compatible cross compiler with crosstool-ng, but it seems GLIBC 2.13 is no longer supported since the cross compiler build stops due to the selected GILBC version :-(
I also tought about building picpgm on the PI itself, but even on my oldest Pi - which I haven't touched for at least one year - already GLIBC 2.19 is installed.

Which OS version are you using?
Can't you do an update of the OS?

Regards,
Christian

Hi,
I'm on Wheezy, there's no recommended upgrade path to Jessie other than a clean start - that would mean a huge amount of work for me but I guess I'll just have to do it. Many many thanks for trying though, much appreciated.
Thanks again.
Steve.

Hi Christian,
So I upgraded to Jessie - a bit messy but it worked in the end.
Now, trying to read a PIC24FJ128GA204 device using a Raspberry Pi 2B
running Jessie(8) and using the GPIO interface, I get this error:
---
pi@sjmpi1 $ sudo picpgm -if GPIO -r

PICPgm 2.9.1.0

---
I'm using only the signals GND,MCLR,PGC & PGC wired as per your diagram at
http://picpgm.picprojects.net/hardware/ ... le_33v.png
EXCEPT I don't know what the PGM signal is or what to connect it to, maybe this is
the problem.
Be very grateful for your help.
Steve.

Further info to above: when trying the -r command the PIC resets multiple times and using -delay parameter affects the rate of those resets. Also the MCLR, PGC and PGD signals all look ok on an oscilloscope.
Please let me know if you need more info.
Are there any debugging features in picpgm I could use to get more info?
Steve.
